Carson Wentz says he feels to show up at educational camp with Eagles

While nothing is guaranteed as the NFL prepares for the 2020 season, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz says he’s tired of showing up at education camp with his teammates lately.

According to the Bowens of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Wentz said he had spoken to his wife, Madison, in recent months about how they were going to practice next season and whether he would participate.

“We feel smart with our decision, but at the same time, we absolutely respect the boys who have to retire … like Marquise Goodwin. I talked to him the other day. I totally respect your decision. Obviously, I’m .’ I’m disappointed I can’t play with him, ” said Wentz.

Goodwin is the only member of the Eagles to date who hints that they will not participate in the 2020 season due to considerations of the COVID-19 pandemic. Nearly 30 players in total across the league said they would retire from next season.

For Wentz, he said he hopes the Eagles will move forward safely, while acknowledging that cases can be quickly replaced.

“I’m sure we can execute all the protocols, the boys can stay safe, the boys can stay healthy,” Wentz said. “But I’m not a fool either. Array… Until something changes, I’ll be there, I’m going to work, I’m going to be in a position to go, like all my teammates.”
