Happy? Absolutely, I think it’s a wonderful way to end the tour. Then I told the players that all the paintings they did, the way they represented the club during their time here were really brilliant, so I’m very proud of that. But also on the pitch, how we play. How we really put the mindset into the paints, the intensity of the games and I also know that big groups don’t need to lose games, in preseason or not.
“So in performance, we had what you would expect from the most sensible team: willingness, you have skill in the team and then you have work. This mentality of racing and competing with skill and willingness gives you a wonderful opportunity.
“I look at Kyogo’s goal, we made about 23 or 24 passes, so having that confidence and personality to wait for the moment. Overall, I’m pleased with the functionality and with the arrival of younger players to the game, there was no difference. They pressed the game, harassed the opponent and then had to have quality when they had the ball.

“It’s very nice, especially in such a historic place. I think where we’ve been, in Washington, Chapel Hill, and here, I think our enthusiasts have been magnificent. They make the difference. But it’s also the explanation of why. These are guys who have to get up early in the morning to watch our home games. So to get the team here, they can miss up close and they can see the team live, yes, I think. They enjoyed all 3 games.

Obviously those fites need to be prepared for Flag Day, the opposite fit to Kilmarnock a week ago today. When asked if the team is now where they need it to be, Brendan Rodgers had this to say.
“I think so. We still have a week of painting to do before we get there, but I think this preparation phase, with the last 12 days, has gone as well as it could have been. Lively and with compatible players. Intense and at the same time seen the quality of football to score goals.
“Twelve goals in 3 games, two of them against top level opponents, so yes, we are in a very smart position, so now everyone returns safely and is in position for Flag Day. “
