Celtic FC Women welcome January addition Emma Westin | OneFootball

The women of Celtic FC are extremely cheerful to announce the arrival of the last firm of January, Emma Westin, to the club.

The winger has signed a contract until the summer of 2026 and will join Elena Sadiku’s team after signing for Swedish side Hammarby.

Westin has prior experience of playing against the Hoops, having faced off against Sadiku and her squad last summer during the Ghirls’ pre-season preparations in Stockholm.

The 26 -year -old moved to Glasgow after a four -year stage with the Swedish team after returning to his in early 2022.

After moving to the United States while he was a teenager, the flexible player spent five years in America before returning to Sweden to get some other stopover in Hammarby.

During his time there, Westin played it in the cutlery lift, adding the national double in 2023, winning the Damallsvenskan League and Svenska Cupen.

Similar to the Hoops, the Swedish club enjoyed a historic 2024, being involved in the UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage for the first time.

And the winger played her part in that European campaign, facing up against Manchester City, Barcelona and St Polten.

Westin also arrives with foreign pedigree, having represented his country in several youth categories, including those under 23 years of age.

After signing for the club, Westin said: “It feels incredible to have signed for Celtic!

“It’s such a big club and the undeniable fact of being here and enjoying all the amenities is incredible. I’m pleased to be here!

“I moved to the United States at 18 and spent 4 years there at university before officially signing for Hammarby.

“I’ve been in Hammarby for a long time. Now I feel like I want a new experience, so I’m pleased to be here.

“Seeing the greatness of this club is anything that has excited me about joining Celtic. I have an impression of Elena and the rest of the staff.

“I will also have a wonderful impression of the team when we are.

“It’s the big games that we all want to play. The second part of the season will bring a lot of excitement in that sense. So it will be good and I can’t wait to get going.”

Celtic head coach Elena Sadiku added: “We are pleased that Emma has selected to point out with us.

“She believes in our task and what we need in the future. “
