Celtic will have two key men in the squad to face Hearts this weekend as Brendan Rodgers’ injuries begin to ease.
The Parkhead side will face the Jambos on Saturday in a bid to get their defence back on track after losing to Kilmarnock last time out. They beat Feyenoord 2-1 this week to end a dismal Champions League crusade and did so with a strong Rotó starting XI. But he’ll be much closer to being in top form this weekend, especially with Daizen Maeda and Cameron Carter-Vickers back in the team.
Maeda has been out for six weeks, while key defender Carter-Vickers has missed the last two games with a minor hamstring problem. Deputy Director John Kennedy has shown that they will be back and available this weekend and that leaves only Liel Abada and Reo Hatate will be back. He added that Abada is still “a few weeks away” and that Hatate is not far behind.
Kennedy told Celtic TV: “Either they’ll sign up for the team, they’re good. Abada is still in rehab, he probably has a few weeks to go and Reo is a bit himself. Other than that, we’re pretty good. “
