Celtic have learned to tempt Kieran Tierney to return to Parkhead in the summer window.
The Scottish foreigner is enjoying a successful loan, and Real Sociedad felt themselves outclassed by Arsenal’s wishes through manager Mikel Arteta last summer, an injury that hampered his fate with hopes of making a name for himself in the English Premier League. As well as being a normal player in La Liga, he has racked up minutes in the Champions League this season.
However, Kenny Miller believes that when he returns to the UAE he will still struggle to maintain consistent minutes. While he believes the 26-year-old will have suitors, he believes Brendan Rodgers could tempt the left-back to return to east Glasgow. Miller exclusively told Ladbrokes Fanzone: “If he doesn’t have compatibility with Mikel Arteta’s plans, that’s fine.
“There’s not much you can do about it. As for his future, if he is away from Arsenal and if he wishes, he will continue to play in the Premier League. . . I’m sure. It’s going to be up to him,” and if the groups are going to take him out of his current contract.
“But as a foreigner, I think he would love to come back to Celtic. Is it just a question of how that will happen?Paying for the move is the challenge here. I don’t think the salary would stop him, because I think Kieran would. Understand the situation and accept that you would have to reduce your salary, probably significantly, to achieve that change.
“Arsenal paid £25m for him and I think he still has a few years left on his contract, so that’s where the challenge would come. Could there be possibilities for a loan agreement for one or two years?Maybe.
“Listen, anything is possible, but I think he’s a smart player, that his next move is up to him. If he needs to be a Premier League player next year, away from Arsenal, someone will pay the money to get him. I’m not. ” I’m going to pretend to have seen him play game after game for Real Sociedad, but if I went to Spain and he was the player I know, then I’d be surprised if he wasn’t on everyone’s radar this summer.
Elsewhere, Eduard Spertsyan’s summer move would be put on hold. The Krasnodar star is attracting interest from across Europe, with clubs across Europe chasing the Armenian playmaker, Celtic, Newcastle United and Girona.
However, reports in Russia claim that the 23-year-old does not have any agreements with Scottish Premiership officials. A resolution is said to be reached this summer, but a move to Celtic Park is unlikely at this level due to growing interest.
