Celtic sold out multiple tickets for the Glasgow derby in seconds, 24 hours after Rangers’ snub was confirmed

Celtic sold out a limited number of tickets for next week’s Old Firm clash against Rangers in seconds this afternoon, 24 hours after it was shown that the Ibrox side would have no allocation for the clash.

The Rangers struck after SPFL bosses failed to enforce a league rule stating that home groups will have to accommodate a “reasonable” number of away supporters.

And it will lose at least 700 more seats for Parkhead fans to attend the Dec. 30 game, which kicks off at 12:30 p. m.

The Hoops said in a statement: “A limited number of appropriately priced tickets are now on sale for season ticket holders for the Glasgow Derby on Saturday 30 December.

“Limited to an entry price commensurate with the price of the season ticket holder.

“Tickets are priced at £54 per ticket and can be purchased online only here:

As things stand, the Hoops have banned members of the ultras organization The Green Brigade from all home and away matches.

It remains to be seen whether this prestige will be replaced before the clash.

Despite claiming an SPFL board sub committee had AGREED that the Hoops’ position on giving the no tickets was unreasonable, the committee were unable to decide what a ‘reasonable’ number would be.

This left the Hoops free to continue with ANY enthusiastic visitors to the game.

The Rangers wrote: “Despite winning a case referred to a subcommittee of the FBCL Board of Directors, Rangers FC, with undue disappointment, will have no supporters at Parkhead for the Old Firm match on December 30.

“The Sub-Committee agreed with Rangers that Celtic FC’s stance of providing zero tickets to Rangers’ fans was unreasonable.

“Even though the subcommittee agreed with the Rangers, the subcommittee was not prepared to determine what would be a ‘reasonable’ number of tickets for the game.

“The Sub-Committee was unable to determine this reasonable number due to the fact that the other party had not submitted enough evidence on this issue, despite having ample opportunity to do so in the weeks and months leading up to the hearing.

“Rangers’ position has been clear. We need fans from all clubs in our stadium and for this to be reciprocated when we move to other clubs’ grounds.

“This resolution calls for efficiency and highlights the procedural flaws of the SPFL I27 standard.

“For Rangers, it is absolutely unfair that if a club (in this case Celtic) does not present sufficient evidence in a procedure of this type, it ties the hands of a subcommittee that will be able to calculate the moderate number of fines. specific where the Subcommittee that the moderate number cannot be zero. »
