Celtic star ‘targeted through Juventus and Monaco’ as foreign giants worth trimming

Foreign giants Monaco and Juventus are claimed to be the clubs keeping an eye on Celtic youngster Rocco Vata.

Vata, son of former Hoops star Rudi, broke into the most sensible team with Angel Postecoglou last season.

But he’s yet to feature under Brendan Rodgers – and that’s as an apparent impasse over his future continues.

The Hoops turned down a six-figure offer from Nottingham Forest in August.

This was in an attempt to secure a new deal to remain at Parkhead; however, Football Scotland reports that no additional contract extensions have been submitted for the star so far.

That suggests he may leave in the summer, when his contract is due to expire.

The Hoops will still be entitled to a “training allowance” at that point, whether they go to England or the continent, but the sum will be around £300,000.

Monaco and Juventus are claimed to be two of the most sensible names in the queue when it comes to spotting it.

He has been noted to play a key role in the Republic of Ireland’s under-19 squad and recently scored for Celtic in a Premier International Cup match against Brighton.

It remains to be seen whether he has a long history at Celtic beyond this summer, but it turns out there is no shortage of potential suitors.
