Kasper Schmeichel achieved the critical savings in the shooting, heading to his left to deny the effort of Ridvan Yilmaz, and Daizen Maeda, who scored the purpose of the moment of Celtic in the regulation, changed the fifth and last shot of his team to send to Bhoys’ enthusiasts Bhoys Rapture.

Plus: The old rivalry: why it matters and who has won the most trophies
The first part was tense and also played with the Rangers 1-0, with Nadim Bajami turning a rebound after Schmeichel stored Hamza Igamane.
The action came to life in the second moment when Celtic reversed the attack in the 4th minute Greg Taylor, who gave the property in the part of the Celtic area during the preparation of the first attack, saw his shot diverted before Jack Butland to match, and the skillful control of Maeda and its end after having managed to recover a ball that bounced. In front of León Balogun established the hoops. On the way to victory.
Mohamed Diomande took the point from Rangers in the 75th minute, turning and sending a shot wide onto the pitch after being thwarted by an aerial save from Schmeichel moments earlier. However, it looked like Celtic had secured victory with 3 minutes to go in the 90’s, and the winger’s first half caused chaos in the stands.
Those celebrations lasted less than a minute. Rangers attacked from kickoff, and Vaclav Cerny’s deep cross from the right was headed in by substitute Danilo 21 seconds after play had restarted.
Extra time was a battle of attrition, with chances at a premium as each set of players — especially those in blue — seemed to feel the effects of European commitments in midweek. The first six penalties were nigh-on faultless, but Yilmaz did not get enough power on his attempt and Schmeichel got a strong hand to the ball. Butland scored for Rangers, but he could not prevent Maeda from delivering another trophy for Scotland’s (still) dominant force.
Of course Maeda scores! It’s a terrific penalty, into the bottom-left corner. Celtic win the Scottish League Cup!
Objective (Butland): Rangers 4-4 Celtic
What a penalty from the keeper! He lifts the shot into the corner, beyond Schmeichel’s reach. Now he must save from Maeda to keep his side’s trophy hopes alive.
Objective (Hatate): Rangers 3-4 Celtic
No mistake from Hatate, which leaves Butland with no chance. Rangers will have to mark their next Array. . . and their goalkeeper Jack Butland!
Sauvé (Yilmaz): Rangers 3-3 Celta
Schmeichel gets down to his left and makes a fine save! Yilmaz’s effort just didn’t have enough power. Advantage Celtic.

GOAL (Engels): Rangers 3-3 Celtic
Butland is going in the right direction, but he does not succeed in Engels’ effort. No one has Clly yet.
But (Danilo): Rangers 3-2 Celtic
Fabulous of Danilo, who Stutters then slides his penalty in the corner.
Objective (McGregor): Rangers 2-2 Celtic
Much more rudimentary in the McGregor component, which drives his penalty in the corner. Butland would have happened there even if he had followed the right path.
OBJECTIVE (HAGI): Rangers 2-1 Celtic
Hagi tries a Bruno Fernandes style and squeezes his shot in front of Schmeichel’s hand.
Goal (Idah): Rangers 1-1 Celtic
This is Adam Idah. . . And it’s a very compound penalty. 1-1-1.
GOAL (Tavernier): Rangers 1-0 Celtic
Tavernier increases first. It is a brief climb . . . but it is a wonderful penalty!
“It is a devastating way to lose a game,” said former Celtic Charlie Mulgrew defense when asked about the penalty shootout against the Rangers. This will harm whoever loses.
Here’s the coin toss… and Rangers win both! These spot-kicks will be taken in front of the Gers fans.
That’s it for the extra period. The Scottish League Cup final will be decided by a penalty shootout.
ET 118 minutes: good play by Alex Valle to get away from Tavernier and transfer the play to Ralston. The Celtic takes out a corner, which takes advantage of Engels, but the shipment is great. We are about 90 seconds from penalties . . .
ET 116 minutes: Forrest tries to force his way through the Blue Shirts on the edge of the box, but Dujon Sterling does enough. The Rangers seem exhausted here (they, of course, had one less day to prepare).
And 113 minutes: Hatate throws the ball over Maeda, but Butland arrives and grabs it right on the edge of his surface. It was close. If there will have to be a winning target, Celtic turns out to be more likely to get it.
And 109 minutes: Celtic work the ball from one side to the other, but the imaginable crossing of the deep scales is super-hit. Nicolas Raskin has been spoiled with Cramp, but he will have to do the soldier – both groups have done their best to make substitutions.
Will we see a winner?
The second-half of extra-time is underway at Hampden. One final push. Come on #RangersFC ? pic.twitter.com/vYz3DklgZq
Players take advantage of this short break to recharge their batteries. It’s very complicated to call this one now.
And 105 minutes: Rangers have an era of ownership in Celtic’s third game, but that’s about to end. It’s in the razor wire.
ET 102 mins: Substitute Cyriel Dessers is booked within about 90 seconds of coming on. He gets a yellow for catching Carter-Vickers late on the foot.
And one hundred minutes: good luck to Engels! His clever run from the right through the center is picked out via a beautifully dangerous pass, but his touch is strong and yet there is still some to come together with.
ET 98 minutes: There is now a fatigue setting. Celtic’s demise is a little less transparent, and Rangers are content to be transparent with their lines without focusing on keeping the ball. You can feel the tension around Hampden Park.
ET 95 mins: Scales takes a loose touch and has his pocket picked by Cerny. He pulls the Rangers man’s shirt and concedes a free-kick right on the edge of the box. That was very nearly a penalty. Tarvernier takes it, but the shot goes over the bar.
Alex Valle the Celtic Taylor Striker.
Hagi wins a past due corner with a blocked shot, yet Callum McGregor clears Tavernier’s delivery. Igamane assists in keeping him alive, yet his cross is too deep, and the referee signals the finish of the 90 minutes.
90 five minutes: Maeda is offside, so the Rangers are loose from the edge of the area. We go to an extension here.
90 min: we will have at least six minutes of additional time.

88 mins: GOAL! RANGERS HAVE LEVELLED AGAIN! What a final this is! Cerny swings in a cross from the right, and Danilo, who held his run well to stay onside, nods the ball beyond Schmeichel from point-blank range. That might have been his first touch! Incredible scenes in Glasgow. There were just 21 seconds between Rangers kicking off after going a goal down and Danilo heading in the equaliser.
87 minutes: goal! Celtic may have won! Kuhn takes a break on the right after Yilmaz surprised looking to intercept a pass. He plays it in Engels and receives a pass back, sweeping for the first time to 12 meters.
85 mins: Bajrami tries his luck on the edge of the box, but his hoarse effort moves the side netting. It is his last act: he went to Danilo.
82 minutes: The game has naturally lost the component of its past frenetic pace. None of the components need to threaten the loss of this victory now. Maeda has experienced a quiet half-time since his goal, however, he proves to be a Celtic attacking threat on the Rangers left.
75 minutes: goal! Diomande calls this time! Celtic wake up from a small corner, Diomande superbly controls Tavernier’s cross and his shot on the bend deflects off Kyogo and leaves Schmeichel defenseless. How definitive we have here!

74 minutes: Schmeichel again! Scales provides the ball near the Celtic area, Igamane is given to Diomande and his attempted curling is magnificently diverted by former Leicester City goalkeeper.
71 minutes: Schmeichel only manages a fierce shot from Cerny. It was a long way away, but it was a really smart shot.
68 minutes: Dujon Sterling replaces Balogun, who may not have had that ankle bump in the first half yet. The rangers are now starting to apply some pressure as they have absolutely shaken through Celtic’s quick targets.
63 mins: Rangers penalize for Kuhn’s obvious move towards Diomande, but referee John Beaton gives a loose kick against Balogun after catching Carter-Vickers as the pair were about to receive a cross. The VAR confirms the referee’s decision.
60 minutes: goal! Celta returns! Maeda creates everything on his own, reaching a ball that bounces in front of Balogun, controlling with his right foot and completing low with the left. Celtic enthusiasts got furious. What a start for this half!

56 minutes: goal! Celtic tie level! The Kyogo corner runs into Taylor, whose satin shot deviates greatly and gets into the net, with helpless butland. Redemption for Celtic N ° 3!

52 minutes: Carter-Vickers saves Celtic! The Rangers break and it’s a four-for-one counterattack, but Carter-Vickers makes a sliding block to fend off a tap-in. How lucky to be 2-0.
50 minutes: The scales hit quickly, taking a look at Bernardo’s free kick that narrowly deflected off the right post. Celtic do the game well.
Celtic make a change, with Auston Trusty replaced by Liam Scales. The decision seems to be a tactical one.
Rangers deservedly put me ahead at half-time. What can Celtic do to respond?
45+3 mins: Rangers are hunting a second goal, and only some last-ditch defending from Cameron Carter-Vickers and Trusty stops Vaclav Cerny from having a clear shot on goal. Celtic are relieved to hear the halftime whistle.
41 minutes: Goal! Rangers lead the final! Nedim Bajrami converted a rebound after Igamane’s low shot was saved by Schmeichel. This all came here after Greg Taylor’s pass was intercepted, allowing the Rangers’ central attacking pairing to charge towards the goal.

33 minutes: from extreme to end and unconnected is like describing this right now. There is a pause in the game at this time while Balogun receives treatment after injuring his left ankle when Auston Trusty landed on him. It would be a real blow to see him pass out. He is limping at this time.
25 minutes: Kyogo makes a smart play to earn a loose kick 25 yards from goal, however, Bernardo Hits the Wall. Celtic are starting to assert themselves on the ball.
19 mins: Time for Rangers to threaten again. Hagi forces a corner, and from the resulting set-piece, Balogun’s header at the far post is caught by Schmeichel. This is a real battle at the moment.

15 mins: BIG SAVE FROM BUTLAND! Celtic break quickly as Paulo Bernardo plays a long ball over the top, and Nicolas-Gerrit Kuhn sprints away down the right and into the box. Jack Butland saves at the winger’s feet, and he gets up to block a tricky rebound attempt from Kyogo Furuhashi. Barely a minute later, Kyogo tries a half-volley from a narrow angle, but Butland saves comfortably.
6 minutes: Half a chance! Celtic handles a long ball from James Tavernier to Hamza Igamane, and falls to Ianis Hagi in the area. He tries to cut the ball, but Kasper Schmeichel blocks it and the hoops can clear. A moment of nervousness for Brendan Rodgers and his players.
4 mins: Rangers have started brightly here and made a couple if inroads in the Celtic half. No chances to speak of yet.
Come on!
3 minutes before the start: I think the beginning will be behind the schedule here. Flares in stands smoke means that visibility is minimal at this time. The players were warm, but the referee maintained the beginning of things.
20 minutes before kick-off: the atmosphere in Hampden Park is a whole thing. . . something. The Scottish winter contributes: it is little three in the afternoon. local time and the sun has already set.
1 hour before the start: Celtic is as planned, the great news is that the right side Alistair Johnson is in good shape despite his hip this week. The Rangers do not have the injured John Souttar, so Leon Balogun united forces with Robin propper as a central defense. Mohamed Diomande arrives at the center of the countryside, Nedim Bajami and Ianis Hagi give out the striker Hamza Igamane, who was doubt after having exhausted the Spurs.
1 hour 30 minutes before the start: It is fair to say that this requires careful logistics planning. There have already been unseested images that suggest imaginable clashes among enthusiasts in the center of Glasgow Town today.

2 hours before kickoff: Christmas may be just 10 days away, but only one half of Glasgow will be in a party mood come the end of this game.
