The electric bus fleet is expected to save 920,000 litres of diesel in line with the year and carbon dioxide annually through 2,400 tonnes.
Centrica has deployed a bus loading infrastructure to force a total of 32 double-decker electric buses in Manchester.
This follows a partnership with shipping organization Stagecoach, which is making one of Europe’s largest bus investments, after securing a £ 6. 9 million investment from the Very Low Emission Bus System (ULEB) of the Ministry of Transport.
The fleet of electric buses consists of two connecting Manchester city centre, the airport, five hospitals and two universities, saving around 920,000 litres of diesel in line with the year and reducing annual carbon dioxide by 2,400 tonnes.
The buses are supplied with two charging problems and the loader has two AC force materials of 40 kW; this means that when combined, buses can be recharged in just 3 and a half hours.
Centrica Business Solutions led the design and delivery of the charging infrastructure that includes on-site sun production and a charger’s power control system.
