Chelsea 3-0 Club América LIVE RESULT: Blues return from Celtic defeat to seal first win of Maresca era – updates

CHELSEA got their first win of the Enzo Maresca era with a 3-0 win over Club America on their evening pre-season excursion of the United States.

The Maresca Blues were beaten by Scottish giants Celtic last weekend but turned things around with a dominant win over the Mexicans in Georgia.

Where Chelsea won their first pre-season and tasted victory for the first time under new boss Enzo Maresca.

Stamford Bridge fans hope (and hope) that this good luck will be the last.

Now we’re going to work out from Georgia, so thank you for joining us and for a good night.

Chelsea have two games left on their American tour, with friendlies against Manchester City in Ohio and then against Real Madrid in North Carolina.

Then, the ‘Bleus’ return home to play the first match of Enzo Maresca’s era at Stamford Bridge, a friendly against Inter Milan.

The new Premier League season kicks off in mid-August with another match against reigning Premier League champions Man City, this time in front of Chelsea’s faithful, and the month ends with a match at Molineux to take on Wolves.

Chelsea goalkeepers Robert Sánchez and Filip Jorgensen only had to make one save in the 90 minutes, and it was the former’s impressive save to deny Javairo Dilrosun’s curler.

The final whistle blew in Atlanta and Enzo Maresca got his first win as Chelsea manager.

Three goals, two goals and a half full of incisive and exciting football, it is the most productive performance of the ‘blues’ so far this preseason.

Christopher Nkunku and Noni Madueke were available from 12 yards, while Marc Guiu’s first-half header hit his own line through Cristian Calderon.

Romeo Lavia was perfect in midfield, especially in the first forty-five minutes, when he teamed up with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, a player who has perhaps just made his first Chelsea appearance with at least two goals.

90. At the end of the match, three minutes of added time are counted.

But the truth is, it’s been a long time in terms of competition.

However, it was a failed educational outcome for Les Bleus and a much-needed morale-boosting victory.

Min. 89. More news for Broja.

The substitute came on when he challenged goalkeeper Rodolfo Cota with a deep cross from the right.

Again, there is nothing unfortunate about the collision, it is simply a shame for the Albanian foreigner to be continuously trapped.

87. Chelsea’s two scorers from 12 yards out, Nkunku and Madueke were replaced by Angelo and Tyrique George respectively.

85. Five minutes left and Broja is once again a nuisance in attack.

The striker believes he won Chelsea’s third penalty of the night, but Reyes’ challenge inside the box was fair, if a little tricky.

82. Magnificent clearance by Ben Chilwell!

The left back takes advantage of a shot aimed at the back of the net and connects with a diving header to return the ball for a corner.

After a scramble inside the box, Club America supporters would have surely thought they were about to get themselves on the scoresheet.

80. Christopher Nkunku entrusts responsibility for the penalty to Noni Madueke, who had tried to take this shot conceded in the first seconds of the competition.

However, the effort is worth it!

With his left foot, the striker stuttered in his run, then planted a brilliant penalty in the most sensitive left corner of the goal past the desperate Rodolfo Cota.

78. Christopher Nkunku enters the area, avoids goalkeeper Rodolfo Cota and is then brought down by the goalkeeper.

The referee examines the collision for a long time and then returns to position!

Chelsea have the penalty of the night!

76. Madueke puts Broja on goal! He will have to score! Broad!!

73. Mudryk is offside.

I missed that.

71. Gusto is there and Ben Chilwell is in his place.

The left-back looked impressive on the US tour around this time last year before injuries and form made it a season to forget.

Expect in 2024-25.

70. Malo Gusto doesn’t look very happy, and I don’t think it’s just because 10,000 Mexicans are whistling in his direction.

The full-back sat on the pitch and indicated that he could continue after receiving a blow.

68. Great effort from Broja! Denied via Cota!

A substitute turned down after the Slough-born Albanian controlled to make a great effort from an acute angle.

In fact, it took a deflection from a defender, which made it even more difficult for the veteran Club América goalkeeper.

67. And for consistency, enter the book Rodrigo Aguirre.

The Uruguayan is warned by a cynic about Nkunku.

65. Lesley Ugochukwu is at the heart of the matter. . .

. . . and in the referee’s notebook.

Álvaro Fidalgo receives a yellow card for one.

62. Okay, we’re leaving!

Wesley Fofana, Armando Broja, Lesley Ugochukwu, Mykhailo Mudryk and Renato Veiga are coming in no order.

Benoît Badiashile, Marc Guiu, Romeo Lavia, Raheem Sterling and Reece James early.

60. Chelsea make several substitutions on the touchline.

In fact, there doesn’t seem to be enough room for coaches to provide instruction.

58. A Mexican wave erupted at the Mercedes-Benz stadium.

Since most of them are Club America fans, I guess it can’t be cultural appropriation.

It’s irritating.

56. Club América will necessarily face an absolutely different team in this second half and, as always, with so many changes, the atmosphere of the festival will be very different.

Since the break, Chelsea have had a lot of ownership, but now they face a low block that no longer leaves them the area they had enjoyed in the first half.

53. Nkunku is trapped by a pain in his calf that causes him to wince as he limps away.

After the Frenchman missed so much football due to injury last season, Chelsea enthusiasts can’t be blamed for fearing the worst every time he goes down like this.

51. As usual, Sterling gets one or two lucky rebounds as he runs into the zone.

His cross down the center was cleared, but only as far as Lavia, who finished with a shot directly at the goalkeeper.

48. Club América also made changes, with the arrival of Dagoberto Espinoza, who wears shirt number 197.

It is ironic that he is betting against the only club in world football that prefers to have those numbers in its first team.
