Timo Werner scored his first goal since 7 November for Chelsea against Morecambe
Chelsea vs Morecambe – LIVE!
The Blues recovered poorly and smoothly have moved away from a massive FA Cup crash in Sunday’s third-round match.
Frank Lampard’s team has competed at Stamford Bridge after a victory in his last seven matches in all competitions amid hypotheses about the coach’s future.
A loss to fourth place Morecambe would have been potentially devastating for Lampard, but it was never an option after the just early blow of the mason Mount boy’s birthday.
Things went over for the dominant Chelsea when Timo Werner ended his long, dry purpose before half-time and Callum Hudson-Odoi scored shortly after the break.
Kai Havertz, a player who has struggled to establish himself this season, won an undeniable victory with an overdue headbutt on a day that lifts Lampard’s morale.

This is how Lampard has responded to the growing hypothesis about his role as Chelsea’s coach amid a slowdown in the way he has noticed the club winning one of his last seven games in all competitions:
“I’m pretty sure of myself in what I’m doing, if other people need to think I’ve been a coach for two and a half years,” Lampard said. “I’ve been playing football since I can walk, I’ve played professionally for 20 years and I’m looking to do the same thing back then as I do now.
“I don’t like to lose games. On Monday I’m disappointed because we lost a game to a team that was bigger than us that day. On Tuesday I wake up and I’m determined to be bigger. That’s the only way I see it.
“If I hadn’t looked for this challenge, I might have sat on TV and done a less difficult job. You may have been an expert at commenting on what everyone else does in hindsight and when I need it. And I don’t. As for the game, I don’t need to worry about what happens if . . . All I care about is preparing the team for Morecambe.
Meanwhile, Morecambe, who fought relegation to the National League last season, seems ready to stick to his new principles of attack in west London despite mass class progress.
“Obviously, a doubt, a team like Chelsea, whatever fit it makes, will create a lot of unrest for any team,” Said Manager Adams.
“We’ll have to stick to the game plan, but if we do, we’ll also create opportunities in the game.
“The challenge then is that when those opportunities arise, how can we be clinical at the goal?
“Our players want to appreciate the skills and talents they have and perceive that we can pose some problems.
“So when we cause those problems, it all depends on what we do with the opportunities.
“We’ve replaced the taste for the game since last season, we have many offensive players who can create and score goals.
“It’s been a wonderful replacement and I think it’s a replacement that the players have appreciated.
“It’s going to be hard in Chelsea, of course, but it’s going to be a wonderful day and a day that we can enjoy and on which we can also be competitive. “
Here’s what Lampard said about the Chelsea youth who trained with the first ones this week. . .
“It’s a wonderful pleasure for them and it’s anything I was looking to do and last season I was able to do a previous reboot,” he said.
“It helps exercise because it’s vital to have a competitive exercise and having young players allows you to be competitive by physically killing other players between games. “
This is how Standard Sport’s James Robson sees Chelsea take shape this afternoon, with Captain César Azpiliceuta and Hakim Ziyech retaining their starting position after last weekend’s 3–1 home defeat to Manchester City. . .
(4-3-3): Kepa; Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Tomori, Emerson; Havertz, Jorginho, Gilmour; Hudson-Odoi, Abraham, Ziyech
Morecambe boss Derek Adams, the coach of Ligue 2 in December, can make his quick Brad Lyons debut at Stamford Bridge.
Coleraine’s former midfielder was loaned out through the Blackburn Championship this week and is expected to be driven directly into action.
Morecambe seems to be in good shape after returning to education after a Stoppage of Covid-19.
Chelsea are Reece James, Andreas Christensen and N’Golo Kante for this afternoon’s injury match.
Meanwhile, teenagers Tino Anjorin, Lewis Bate, Henry Lawrence, Tino Livramento and Jude Soonsup-Bell have trained with the first team this week and can play.
Things may get complicated for Chelsea if they get off to a slow start, but Lampard’s team is still expected to have more than enough firepower to pass, with some goals in the second half.
