Les Bleus announced the news this morning in a post on their club’s official online page.
The 23-year-old Russian foreign defender joined Chelsea from Locomotiv Moscow in the January 2022 transfer window. Abdullina struggled to progress at Chelsea and was limited to just 20 appearances for the club in all competitions, the majority of which were from the bench.
Abdullina was loaned out for the 2023/2024 season. She spent time with French top-flight club Paris FC. She helped the club achieve a successful run in the UEFA Women’s Champions League and played against parent club Chelsea when the two organisations met at the organisational stage.
The youngster’s departure to Chelsea is not a surprise, as Abdullina has long been connected to a new challenge outside of English football. Returning to his home Russia turns out to be an option this summer.
Abdullina becomes the third player to leave Chelsea since the end of the season. Veteran duo Maren Mjelde and Fran Kirby are also leaving at the end of their contracts with the South West Londoners.
