Chelsea have signed goalkeeper Edouard Mendy of French Rennes on a five-year contract.
Senegalese foreigner Mendy will offer a festival to Kepa Arrizabalaga, who has struggled to stay fit and confident at Stamford Bridge.
The 28-year-old told the Blues website: “I’m very excited to sign up for Chelsea. It’s a dream for me to be part of this exciting team and work with (the manager) Frank Lampard and all his coaches.
“I can’t wait to meet my teammates and I can’t wait to get started. “

The 6-foot-5-inch guard moved west of London as part of a 20 million-pound deal, according to THE PA news agency.
It is Lampard’s seventh senior signing of a busy summer following the arrivals of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell, Kai Havertz, Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr.
Chelsea manager Marina Granovskaia said: “As soon as Petr Cech (technical and functionality consultant) and our technical team recognized Edouard as the right top goalkeeper for our entire existing squad, we are only looking to incorporate one player.
“Edouard arrives after a season of real good luck with Rennes, has over-ambition and we welcome him to our club.
