Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic has spoken out about rumours linking his side to the possibility of signing Benjamin Sesko. The RB Leipzig star has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, with Arsenal among his admirers.
Future Blues manager Enzo Maresca is expected to shake up Chelsea’s ranks in the coming months as he looks to assert his authority within his new team. Signings are expected on both sides of the field, with the priorities being a central defender and a goalkeeper.
Stamford Bridge are also looking for a new striker, with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Brentford star Ivan Toney among their options.
Slovenian Sesko has also been linked with a Chelsea move, and the striker’s search has been encouraged by Blues goalkeeper Petrovic.
Asked if he was aware of the rumours linking his team to Sesko, Petrovic told Nogomania: “I know him and support him. He’s having an intelligent half season, he’s in excellent goalscoring form.
“I read that he scored in his last seven consecutive games. It turns out that it has gained strong momentum for the euro. He is a striker who has everything a fashionable player needs. He is tall, strong, fast and intelligent.

“I watched some of his matches. Of course he can play in the Premier League. Absolutely! He does this wonderfully and has demonstrated it effectively in recent months.
Chelsea would possibly have to act temporarily if they need to secure the signature of the former RB Salzburg star, as they are not the only club in the race to secure the signing of the talented 20-year-old.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Arsenal are leading the race to signal the team of Sesko and Mikel Arteta who are in pole position to take over their facilities before the start of next season. After a stellar season, the striker’s release clause has risen from £43m to £55m, but the build-up hasn’t seen interest wane.
Manchester United and Newcastle have also been connected with Sesko before, so Chelswa will have to get the wheels rolling to strike a deal with Leipzig if they need to usher in Maresca’s stay at Stamford Bridge by scoring the striker.
