Chelsea-Brighton LIVE!
Chelsea celebrates a dramatic win over Brighton that puts them in the most sensible part of the Premier League table. Enzo Fernandez and Levi Colwill scored point-blank headers from set-pieces to put the Blues on course for victory at Stamford Bridge, earlier in the day. It turned sour just before stoppage time when Facundo Buonanotte returned home to halve his deficit and replace him. Captain Conor Gallagher was quickly sent off for a second caution.
Brighton could not drive home their numerical advantage after the break, however, with Fernandez notching his second goal of the afternoon from the penalty spot after a foul by James Milner on Mykhailo Mudryk. Joao Pedro headed in at the start of second-half stoppage time to spark a wild finish, with a last-gasp Brighton penalty award for handball against Colwill rightly overturned.
Chelsea now climb to tenth place after reacting well to the Newcastle debacle, with a high profile against Manchester United in midweek. Follow Chelsea’s reaction to Brighton live below, with Nizaar Kinsella’s skilful research at Stamford Bridge.
