Chelsea have reportedly made contact to sign a Liverpool player for a move in this window of movement as the days come to an end.
Les Bleus must finalise their transfers before the end of the month, when the last summer window closes. They need outgoing agreements and they also need other possible arrivals to come in.
Chelsea have a lot to do in terms of business in this window, but with little time left, one wonders if time won’t eventually run out for the Blues’ decision-makers.
Gomez to Chelsea?
According to our editor Simon Phillips on his online Substack page today, Chelsea have contacted Liverpool regarding a possible solution to sign Joe Gomez this summer.
Phillips writes:
“A Liverpool source has shown that Chelsea have recently contacted defender Joe Gomez about a possible move this summer.
“Chelsea contacted the player’s agents to see if there would be any interest in the transfer, and there would be.
“At this stage, it is Chelsea who determines all the monetary terms of any deal and whether or not they can do it. Nothing has advanced beyond that as of this writing, but we know how temporarily things can change.
“The SPTC’s resources hope that this is a resolution that depends on the departure of Trevoh Chalobah and the centre-back. “
This turns out to be an attractive scenario to observe. Phillips also credits the account with the exclusive dissemination of this news.
