News of the move was revealed by NJ/NY Gotham FC via a post on the club’s official online page not long ago.

Carter leaves Chelsea after spending the last six years at the club. The 26-year-old has played a role in the Blues’ success. She won 11 trophies as a Chelsea player, including five Barclays Women’s Super League titles, 3 Adobe Women’s FA Cups, two FA Women’s Continental Tires League Cups and the FA Women’s Community Shield.

The finisher will now join fiancée and former Chelsea teammate Ann-Katrin Berger at new club NJ/NY Gotham FC. Berger completed his move to the NWSL before the end of the 2023/2024 campaign.

After completing his move to the United States, Carter said, “I can’t wait to sign up for Gotham FC. The club is lately playing for a point in one of the toughest leagues in the world. I can’t wait to be a part of all this.

Carter may face his former club when NJ/NY Gotham FC take on Chelsea in a friendly on Monday, Aug. 19, 2024. The two clubs are scheduled to meet at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey.
