He admitted to “fighting” in recent weeks, despite impressing from the start.
Lampard, however, believes that ordinary games opposed to Arsenal on Saturday and Aston Villa on Monday can bring Werner back to purpose mode.
“I communicate with him all the time, but I don’t feel any frustration,” Lampard said at Wednesday’s press conference.
“I think it’s clear that as a striker you need to score regularly, as he has done in his career.
“But at the same time, each and every striker has times when the ball doesn’t fall for any reason.
“The thing is, he has opportunities in the games, he uses his attributes to get into the area, he has opportunities, then they’ll come. “
