Chelsea have already made their position on Conor Gallagher’s Aston Villa transfer deal transparent

Chelsea have reportedly shrugged off rumours that Conor Gallagher could be allowed to leave as part of a transfer deal with Aston Villa.

Gallagher has a potential move target for Aston Villa, with Unai Emery’s side preparing to return to the Champions League.

The Midlands side finished fourth in the Premier League last season and will move temporarily in the summer transfer window.

According to The Athletic, Aston Villa have started initial talks with Chelsea about the possibility of signing Gallagher this summer.

The midfielder boasts that he has one year left on his current contract, and the communication of a renewal stutters in weeks.

However, Aston Villa’s search for Gallagher could come to fruition if Chelsea rekindle their interest in Villa striker Jhon Duran.

Chelsea are said to have grown fond of the striker in the January window, and the two-time European champions continue to admire the 20-year-old.

The Blues are believed to have Duran’s quality and would be keen to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

However, any option of an industrial agreement between Gallagher and Durán has already been ruled out.

The Three Lions are the favourites to win this summer’s Euro 2024 and you can get your hands on the new Nike home and away kits before the first whistle.

That’s according to The Telegraph, which reported last month that if Gallagher were to leave the club, it would be as part of a permanent sale.

This is because Chelsea would prefer to pocket one hundred percent of the budget of the possible sale of Gallagher, to contribute to the regulations of profit and sustainability.

And with West Londoners valuing Gallagher at around £50 million, his sale may go a long way toward easing long-term currency pressures.

Any long-term career resolution would likely have to wait until after the European Championships, with Gallagher set to be part of Gareth Southgate’s final 26-man squad.

But Chelsea’s academy product has been outspoken about his preference at Stamford Bridge, with Gallagher recently hinting at his next move.

Speaking to Sky Sports about Enzo Maresca’s appointment, the 24-year-old said: “I’ve heard a lot of things and I’ve also noticed a lot of things.

“Me and everyone at Chelsea are happy and excited to be working with him.

“We need to put Chelsea back in place, so that with the new manager we can start to improve and get to where we are. “
