Born in Hampshire, Webster has been on Chelsea’s books since the U10 point after a stint at the Pezzaz Street Soccer Academy, a complex education school for youngsters who have been known to have a footballer’s future from an early age.
Players as young as 4 were recruited through the academy and several teenagers were granted secure contracts at Fulham, Oxford, Bournemouth, Southampton, Bristol City and Reading. Webster is already considered one of Pezzaz’s good luck stories.

Webster made his professional debut last October when he conceded in Chelsea’s EFL Trophy against Ligue 1 side Cheltenham at Whaddon Road, which the hosts won on penalties. He took on senior professionals while playing a complex role.

In terms of football, Webster has represented England in various grades and lately plays for the Under-19s. One of the proudest moments of his young career came a few years ago when he captained England’s Under-16s against the Republic of Ireland.
Webster still has a long way to go before he follows in the footsteps of Reece James, Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham, Conor Gallagher, Fikayo Tomori and others, but early symptoms are promising. He may be Chelsea’s next prodigy.
