Chelsea would be in a position to remove goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan following the arrival of Edouard Mendy from Rennes.

Arrizabalaga endured a torrid crusader season after a series of poor performances and errors.

The Spanish international worsened after Mendy signed from Rennes for 22 million pounds in the window of recent movements.

According to the Spanish Sports Stadium (via Goal), Stamford Bridge officials will allow the 26-year-old to leave Stamford Bridge this season to regain his trust.

He also reports that Sevilla would be interested in the player’s transfer for the rest of the campaign.

One move would be incredible for Arrizabalaga after joining Chelsea in 2018 for a world record.

Enthusiasts think they had solved their goalkeeper’s disorders when the player joined Athletic Bilbao, so that he would make a bad decision soon after.

Coach Frank Lampard has his goalkeepers’ teammates Willy Caballero and veteran Petr Cech on his team, after the duo formed their 25-man Premier League team by 2020/21.

New signing Mendy has given the impression in three matches for Chelsea this season in all competitions, the same number as Arrizabalaga.

Mendy’s recent 0-0 tie in the Champions League with Sevilla at home. The blank blade in front of a difficult opponent means that the Frenchman can only now begin his attack on Man Utd.

Meanwhile, in Arrizabalaga’s last outing, he scored three goals against Southampton, also partly guilty of the Saints’ moment goal, following his poor attempt at the blockade.

Lately, Sevilla have the selection of goalkeepers Tomás Vaclik and Bono in their team, but an agreement for Arrizabalaga can be smart for both the player and the Spanish national team.

This would give the goalkeeper the ability to prove his value at the point and regain his confidence. Sevilla could end up with a reasonable goalkeeper option for the rest of the season.

Turns out Arrizabalaga’s time as Chelsea’s number one is more than over.
