Chelsea made Kepa the highest goalkeeper in history when they signed him for 71 million pounds in 2018.
There have been hypotheses linking the Blues to a 109 million pound move for Jan Oblak, and they are expected to maximize the money they spent on Kepa to help fund an offer for the Atletico Madrid shooter.
But Darren Bent suggests that Chelsea’s transfer repairman, Marina Granovskaia, faces an overwhelming challenge to the fullest of that record spending.
“You look at the two groups in the department – Liverpool and City – they have two world-class goalkeepers who charge a fraction of the price,” he told Football Insider.
“Both are notable goalkeepers, make big stops, are smart with their feet and you can say they made a difference in their team while Kepa throws points at them. They want to fix it.”
He added: “They’re going to have to [suffer a loss], there’s no one who’s going to spend 71 million pounds for Kepa.”
