Chelsea have shown the appointment of Thomas Tuchel as a new manager.
A former member of Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund, Tuchel was temporarily chosen as Chelsea’s first pick to upgrade Frank Lampard after his dismissal on Monday and will sign for Les Bleus on an initial 18-month contract.
The 47-year-old will be in the works for Wednesday’s match against Wolverhampton Wanderers and begins his first consultation with his new players before today’s match.
“I thank Chelsea FC for the trust placed in me and my staff,” Tuchel said.
“We all have the utmost respect for Frank Lampard’s paintings and the legacy he created at Chelsea. At the same time, I look forward to assembling my new team and participating in football’s most exciting league. I’m grateful to be part of Chelsea’s family circle now, it’s amazing. “
Tuchel has become Chelsea’s first national team in part because of his availability (he was sacked by Paris Saint-Germajor in December), but also for his confidence that he can be the coach to make the most of a group of young Bundesliga talents. He didn’t click under Lampard. The main ones will be Timo Werner and Kai Havertz, who invested nearly $170 million last summer.
Director Marina Granovskaia said: “It is never easy to replace head coaches mid-season, however, we are very pleased to hire one of Europe’s most sensible coaches like Thomas Tuchel. There’s still a lot to play and a lot to achieve this. “season, and beyond. We welcome Thomas to the club. “
Tuchel has become 13th permanently controlled since Roman Abramovich bought the club in the summer of 2003. Only four times, a head coach has reached more than a hundred Chelsea-rate games, while only Jose Mourinho has reached a third season in rate. The 18-month reign is the fifth longest of the Abramovich era.
