Chelsea enthusiasts, and indeed the football network in total, were this week when news broke that Petr Cech had registered as a player for the 2020-21 Premier League campaign.
Cech, 38, retired in the summer of 2019 after four years with Arsenal.
He then returned to Chelsea to painting as a technician and manager of the Blues.
Cech filmed joining a band before this month, but there is little mention of that at the time.
Cech was assumed to have been invited to participate through Frank Lampard in an attempt to help the unconvincing Kepa Arrizabalaga regain some confidence.
But Cech is now available for the variety for all remaining Chelsea Premier League matches this season after being included in the club’s 25-man list in the Premier League.
The mythical goalkeeper is expected to show up – summer recruiters Edouard Mendy and Kepa are ahead of Cech in the hierarchy as things stand – but there is still a chance he will play.
This means that it is imperative that Cech exercise hard and be in the right physical condition in case Lampard wishes.
Following Cech’s surprise return, he reported that the veteran “archer” had “surprised” Chelsea players and staff with his performances in training.
Meanwhile, new photographs of Cech have appeared on the ground.
It looks very sharp, as you will see, despite its years of advancement . . .
Below are some reactions to the photographs of the enthusiasts Array. .
No wonder Lampard thinks it’s “obvious” to bring Cech back to the team.
“Pete has been educating goalkeepers for a while,” Lampard told Chelsea’s website. “I think he’s quite well-known and trains many days with them, which is invaluable to his experience. “
“It’s helping them exercise and it’s helping me know that it conveys that quality and delights doormen. We had a position on the team, we know that this year is unlike any other by Covid and what he can do. by variety and isolation the year, so it was a very simple decision. Pete’s still doing his job, but he’s here if we want him.
“He’s very fit, he’s still young, he’s probably kept playing,” Lampard said.
”He assumed his role at Chelsea, which does very well, helps me a lot and we paint very closely. I don’t know if we’ll see him [play] much this season. It’s based on how the season unfolds and Covid and isolation, but in fact I think it was a no-brainer to have Pete on the team for that reason This can only help the goalkeepers we have to see among us one of the most productive in the world of the fashion age ».
Chelsea will win Manchester United in the Premier League on Saturday.
And there would probably be more than a few enthusiasts waiting to see Cech at the submarine bank above Kepa.
