Mauricio Pochettino plans to give Chelsea two days off if they manage to beat Luton at Kenilworth Road.
Pochettino hopes his star-studded stars can earn some downtime by winning their final game of 2023.
No Premier League team has lost more games this year than Chelsea, who have done so 19 times.
But, after a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, Pochettino will be hoping to end 2023 on an excellent note.
“The plan is to win and then give one or two days off depending on the circumstances,” he said.
Chelsea had the fewest rest among the Premier League’s 20 between the 3 festive matchdays from December 24 to 30.
But the Blues won’t play any more after Luton until Preston face the championship at Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup on Jan. 6.
Until then, Chelsea will be hoping to prove they can come out on top of four consecutive away defeats.
Pochettino is keen to show his fans that 2024 will be different to 2023.
“Yes, of course, that’s our goal. . . to be consistent and the last six home games have been smart to build this series,” he said.

“And to end the year with a result would be very good. This season we are suffering a bit with groups like Luton and of course it is a big challenge.
“I am happy to go and play there because it is good for our young team, good experience.
“Now we know that if we need to win, we have to fight and give our all and, of course, play football the way we know how to play. “
