Chelsea settles for Kai Havertz’s condition of Bayer Leverkusen following announcement of move

Chelsea has reportedly accepted The status of Bayer Leverkusen to announce the signing of Kai Havertz until the end of their Europa League campaign.

The Blues are stuck in talks with the Bundesliga over a million-pound move.

Frank Lampard’s team needs to spend more than 70 million pounds upfront and negotiates a way to pay the remaining balance in installments.

New boys Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner have already faced Chelsea after completing their moves.

Werner refused to form RB Leipzig in the final stage of the Champions League to move early to west London.

But Havertz won’t afford that the 21-year-old will be needed for Leverkusen’s Europa League campaign, which continues his clash of the last 16 games against Rangers.

If the two clubs reach an agreement on the rates before the restart of the UEFA tournament, they will delay an announcement, according to TEAMtalk.

Leverkusen has asked to pass through the exit to avoid diverting attention from his career to the competition.

“Chelsea believes he’ll be out of date, but it looks like Leverkusen doesn’t need to say anything until he finishes his Europa League campaign,” a source told TEAMtalk.

“Chelsea is pleased to expect this. And it turns out it’s the only team on budget to close this deal this summer.”

Meanwhile, Leverkusen’s sporting director Simon Rolfes has explained why the value of the Havertz and the wing of Borussia Dortmund Jadon Sancho, sought through Manchester United, will not be broadcast.

“You have to differentiate yourself,” Rolfes said. “With many players, things will be replaced and clubs will also act differently.

“But they are two exceptional players who are very rare and have value. That’s why we see the stage very relaxed.”

He added: “[Havertz] is focused,” Rolfes said of the midfielder. “Kai is comfortable with speculation, concentrated, cheerful.

“It gives impression. Like the other players, the holidays have done.

“In a market, especially long this time, it is widespread that not everything is fixed early.

“As a club and also as a sporting director, clarifying the peloton for the new season as soon as you can imagine is the desired scenario, but rarely reality.

“In any case, we do our job, prepare and monitor the market. We will see how non-public knowledge evolves in the near future.”
