Chelsea sign Bayer leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz

Chelsea have announced the signing of offensive midfielder Kai Havertz of Bayer Leverkusen in an agreement of around 70 million pounds, adding add-ons.

Havertz is the sixth player to sign for The Blues this summer, following the arrivals of Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr.

The 21-year-old German foreigner was cleared to leave German education camp on Friday and flew to the UK before heading west to London, where he put the pen on paper on a five-year contract.

“I am very satisfied and proud to be here,” Havertz told Chelsea’s official website.

“For me, it’s a dream come true to play in a big club like Chelsea and I can’t wait to meet all the players and coaches.

“Yes, I’m very pleased to be here!”

Chelsea manager Marina Granovskaia added: “Kai is one of the players his age in world football, so we are very pleased that his career is long at Chelsea.”

“He has shown himself in one of the European leagues, plays for the German national team and is an exciting and dynamic talent.

“We are very happy to be able to bring versatility and quality to the team before the start of the season.”

Widespread reports recommend that Havertz would be the most beloved player in Chelsea’s history, with a payment of 90 million pounds discussed at one point, but Kepa Arrizabalaga holds the club’s record for now after traded 72 million pounds to Athletic Bilbao in 2018.

Havertz had a remarkable individual crusade for Leverkusen last season, racking up 18 goals in forty-five appearances for the German team, and his remarkable form after the Bundesliga’s return made Chelsea accentuate his interest.

Frank Lampard has made the decision to strengthen his offensive characteristics before the new season, already has a great skill at his disposal.

Premier League giants will now introduce a quality goalkeeper, with Kepa’s long career in limbo after an incredibly disappointing two-year stay at Stamford Bridge.

Edouard Mendy of Rennes has been known as Chelsea’s priority target for the position, but the club’s bid to open the club for 15 million pounds has been rejected through the Ligue 1 team.

Chelsea return with a step forward offered by the French striker.

Rennes is understood to charge at least 31 million pounds for his possession.
