The prolific Danish forward Pernille Harder signed with Chelsea on Tuesday on a three-year contract to sign for a growing number of women’s soccer stars heading to their football club in England.
The 27-year-old led VfL Wolfsburg to the UEFA Champions League final last month and has scored 103 goals for the German team in 113 games in the more than three and a half years.
“I’m excited to play for such a big club, to play with so many players and to play in the league as well,” Harder said. “The English league is so exciting right now. “

Harder would join Australian alien Sam Kerr in west London, while protecting rivals that Manchester City has strengthened for the 2020-2021 season by signing US World Cup winners. But it’s not the first time Sam Mewis and Rose Lavelle.
“Pernille is one of the most productive players in the world. Her record in Wolfsburg and Linkopings, as well as worldwide with Denmark, shows how valuable she has been to her teams,” said Chelsea director Emma Hayes.
“She is a team player who needs to take her game to the next level. She chose Chelsea as the club that can take her to that level,” Hayes said. “She can play for any team in the world, but she chose us. She chose the players, the staff, the environment, the taste for the game. You can’t get a bigger compliment than one of the world’s most productive players. “
Chelsea won the 2019-2020 Women’s Cup according to the League name with problems consistent with City’s front game after the season was interrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Chelsea begin defending his name in a home match against Manchester United on Sunday.
