Havertz’s arrival at Stamford Bridge for 71 million pounds (A$129.5 million) is the Blues’ new intention in their attempt to close the gap over Liverpool and Manchester City in the Premier League’s most sensible.
The 21-year-old, who can play as an offensive midfielder or striker, is signed by fellow foreign Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell and Thiago Silva to sign for the club in Frank Lampard’s season.

Chelsea finished fourth in the Premier League last season, 33 Liverpool champions.
“I am very satisfied and proud to be here. For me, it’s a dream come true to play at a big club like Chelsea and I look forward to bringing all the players and coaches together,” Havertz told Chelsea’s website.
Havertz’s gesture overshadows Werner’s short-lived record as Germany’s top footballer after signing chelsea for 53 million euros in June.
This is the only record Havertz took from Werner.
He succeeded former RB Leipzig striker as the youngest player to make 50 and then 100 Bundesliga appearances since joining Leverkusen’s youngest player when he debuted at the age of 17.
He has scored 46 goals in 150 competitive matches with Leverkusen, adding 18 last season, but that was not enough to bring them back to the Champions League, as they finished fifth in the Bundesliga and reached the quarter-finals of the Europa League.
Havertz was willing to move to a Champions League club and Chelsea moved temporarily to secure his signature. He seems to have more urgent considerations at the other end of the field.
Meanwhile, Dani Ceballos has joined Arsenal for one season on loan from Real Madrid, the Premier League club announced on Friday.
The Spanish national scored two goals in 36 games with the Gunners last season, Mikel Arteta’s team won the FA Cup.
“Dani was an integral component of our team last season and finished the season in the right way,” Arteta said.
“I love Dani’s hobby and commitment, and he’s a very professional player. We are very happy to welcome you and look forward to seeing you continue where you left off.”
Ceballos will not be available for Arsenal’s newly promoted Premier League season open match in Fulham on 12 September, as it will have to be quarantined for 14 days due to UK coronavirus regulations for travellers from Spain.
The transfer agreement is Arsenal’s third signing from the movement window after securing Lille central defender Gabriel Magalhaes this week and Brazilian Willian in a loose move from Chelsea.
