Chelsea, the courage Tiemoue Bakayoko’s move calls for at 20 million pounds in desperate attempt to hit the midfield of failure at AC Milan

The foreigner from France learned that he does not have much time at Stamford Bridge after spending the last two seasons on loan.

Now, Chelsea is looking to succeed in a 20 million-pound deal with AC Milan to retire it for good.

Bakayoko, 25, Chelsea 40 million pounds when they bought it from Monaco three years ago as Antonio Conte’s first signing for the club.

But he struggled to cope with the speed and intensity of the Premier League and was allowed to sign for AC Milan on loan after only one season when Maurizio Sarri replaced Conte in 2018.

The Italians paid off a loan of 4.5 million pounds, even without provoking the option of a permanent signing of 32 million pounds at the end of last season.

And Sarri was temporarily replaced as Blues boss through Frank Lampard, there was still no place for Bakayoko in Chelsea’s plans.

He sent back to the former club Monaco on another one-season loan.

But the player was unable to return once and Monaco has now missed the chance to re-sign the defensive midfielder for an agreed payment of 37.5 million pounds.

He is now back at Stamford Bridge, but with N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, Matteo Kovacic, Ross Barkley and Billy Gilmour competing for a central midfield position, he is not up to the supply.

He has two years of contract of 100,000 euros a week to run.

But he said he would be willing to settle for a pay cut to speed up his departure before the start of the new season next month.

And the fallen giants, Milan, are in a position to throw him a lifeguard after securing the Europa League qualifier with an unbeaten 12-match streak under the command of new boss Stefano Pioli.

It is understood that Milan is preparing an offer of 13.5 million pounds, which is from Chelsea’s valuation.

But Les Bleus have already spent $84.5 million to point to Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech.

They are also close to Bayer Leverkusen striker Kai Havertz, who can charge them up to 90 million pounds.

Now, Milan relies on Chelsea for a commitment of around 15 million pounds to get Bakayoko off his inflated payroll.
