The last word from the English media suggests that Chelsea are willing to sacrifice a threesome this winter, to fund a move for West Ham star Declan Rice.
Activities at Stamford Bridge were, of course, one of Europe’s topics of discussion this summer.
This came with the Blues taking advantage of the monetary difficulties of clubs across the continent to embark on a recruitment campaign.
At the back of a couple of moving windows without a bachelor signing, Chelsea received 7 high-level additions.
After closing deals for Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner even before the summer window opened, the last week of August saw Ben Chilwell, Malang Sarr and Thiago Silva file a lawsuit.
London’s largest spending came in the form of a 70 million pound deal for German foreigner Kai Havertz, before shooter Edouard Mendy finished the last batch of arrivals in south-west London.
Meanwhile, the last few weeks we have seen the generous spending of Les Bleus starting to pay off.
After a disappointing opening of the campaign, Chelsea’s form has recovered mainly in recent times, thanks in large part to contributions from the club’s summer additions.
Players like Hakim Ziyech, Thiago Silva and Ben Chilwell have proven their mettle in the club’s eight-game unbeaten streak, a streak that includes complete victories in their last four.
However, according to the media’s latest hypothesis on Thursday, Roman Abramovich does not yet appear to be in a position to close his checkbook.
It comes amid claims that Chelsea are in a position to relaunch their search for Declan Rice firmly when the January window opens.
According to a report by Football Insider:
“Western Londoners are in a position to continue their ordinary summer recruiting crusade with a large-money movement for the Hammers award. “
While West Ham deserves to stand firm in its position that Rice is not for sale, an offer has been suggested that the London Stadium board simply cannot refuse.
This comes with Frank Lampard, a big fan of England international talent, especially Rice’s ability to play in more than one position.
The challenge for Chelsea, however, is that it will only fund a little of its number one winter purpose if Stamford Bridge spending also increases after the start of the year.
Football Insider, in turn, appoints a trio of players, in the form of Antonio Rudiger, Jorginho and Marcos Alonso, as they are most likely on the record.
It is after at least two of those 3 elements have been moved that a new proposal will be presented to Rice.
Interestingly, this supports similar claims about the fabrizio Romano movement expert’s component in the summer:
