THE CAPTAIN SPEAKS
Speaking before the match, César Azpilicueta spoke about the importance of transparent pictures in Europe.
Chelsea captain said: “We are happy that in those European matches, each and every detail is vital and we have to be in a position to do so. “
“To be successful as a team, we have to be strong defensively and that’s all we have to do against a smart team. “
Chelsea were kicked out of the Champions League through Bayern Munich last season, but Azpilicueta believes it’s all part of the learning curve.
He said: “We know that it was the champions at the end of the crusade and that they obviously had an offensive side. When you’re facing the highest level, you know you have to deal with that and we haven’t done it against them. “
“We were far from their point and this crusade begins against Sevilla, who is the winner of the Europa League and we also know that we have a very intelligent point.
“We know that when you’re up against those kinds of teams, we have to be very strong defensively, play in combination because we show our quality in the 3rd forward.
“We have to keep repeating that but also the defensive side. “

BILLY’S BACK?
