Frank Sinclair has asked Chelsea to question Ben Chilwell’s worth as the Blues prepare to take a step on Leicester’s sideside. The West London club is in the midst of a team review ahead of the new season and desperately wants their defense.
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has met Chilwell as a priority target on left-back, England’s foreigner would arguably claim a world record.
Leicester would like at least 80 million pounds for the 23-year-old, the same amount paid through Manchester United when he made Harry Maguire the world’s top defender last summer.

Chelsea’s former defender, Sinclair, gives Chilwell a maximum rating, but the 48-year-old has asked his former club to pay more than the Foxes star.
Speaking to GentingBet about Chelsea’s expected movement activities, Sinclair said: “Ben Chilwell is still a man.

“When you hear how Brendan Rodgers talks so loud about Ben Chilwell and how [he is] a component of Leicester City in the future, I suppose it will be complicated and very, very expensive.
“For me, there are many world-class sides and Frank has the right one for Chelsea Football Club.
“Obviously Ben Chilwell is a very sensible and English Open player, but I don’t think Chelsea will pay more for him.”
Chelsea have linked to other less expensive opportunities for Chilwell, adding Nicolas Tagliafico, Alex Telles and Marc Cucurella.
Frank Lampard warned that Hakim Ziyech was a coach’s nightmare before Chelsea’s transfer. Lampard told Chelsea players that they were not smart enough to wear the opposing badge to Leicester.
Atalanta’s ace, Robin Gosens, is another star call related to a move to Stamford Bridge and would be available for about 30 million pounds, but Sinclair is not convinced that the Blues are actively looking to decrease the signings.
“Robin Gosens is a smart player, I haven’t noticed much, but I’ve noticed it sporadically and he’s a smart player,” Sinclair said.
“But for me, I don’t think it’s a less expensive option.
“Chelsea hasn’t spent anything on moving windows since Frank was at the football club.
“So I think he has cash to spend and I think the owner will accept it and he has to pass out and get what he thinks is the most productive left in world football.”
Meanwhile, reinforcements are needed in central defence and Sinclair is confident that Lampard will recruit the players this summer.
He said: “Chelsea surely wants to defend their defense. When you look at the number of goals conceded through Chelsea this season, it’s not a smart look, which is obvious.
“I think Frank had to check other combinations on the back with staff and systems during the season to check and get the answers to keep the sheets clean.
“It’s not entirely solved, which probably shows Lampard what’s going on to have to pass and recruit better players for the defensive situation.”
