Chennai, April 19 (PTI) – Two-time Indian Super League champions Chennaiyin FC has partnered with the HCL Foundation to expand football locally and help empower young people and engage in networking, the global IT company said on Wednesday. They will take part in a tree-planting occasion at an afforestation site in Harit. They will also stop at the Kannagi Nagar Police Boys & Girls Club to interact with academics from Sports for Change in the southern Chennai locality, encouraging them to play the game professionally.
“Through this partnership with Chennaiyin FC, we aim to harness the unprecedented strength of the game to foster inclusion, empower young people, and drive positive social change,” said Dr. Nidhi Pundhir (Vice President of Global CSR at HCLTech and Head of HCL). Foundation) in a press release.
“Together, we aspire to create a legacy of sportsmanship and network engagement for generations to come,” he added.
CFC also donated 500 tickets to HCL Foundation Sports For Change (SFC) fellows for ISL fit on April 9 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.
In addition, 20 young people from the HCL Foundation’s CCS program accompanied the CFC players before the match.
Some matches will also be live-streamed for academics from the Arumbakkam and Kannagi Nagar Boys & Girls Police Clubs.
