Chiesa leaves Fiorentina for Juventus in one day

After years of speculation about movements, Italian winger Federico Chiesa nevertheless left Fiorentina to compete with Juventus on the deadline in Italy.

The 50 million euro ($60 million) deal is a two-year loan that then forces Juventus to buy the contract from Chiesa, Juventus announced on Monday.

The son of former Italian glassmaker Enrico Chiesa, Chiesa, 22, has gone through Fiorentina’s youth formula and is part of the national team.

His arrival at Juventus adds size to an attack with Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Morata already.

To make room in Chiesa’s budget, Juventus ceded midfielder Douglas Costa to Bayern Munich and side Mattia De Sciglio to Lyon.

On loan, midfielder Tiémoué Bakayoko joined Napoli from Chelsea.
