Clemson’s quarterback Trevor Lawrence leaves the door open to his long career in football, has already announced plans to move to the NFL after this youth season.
Lawrence, the 6-foot-6-inch pin with floating hair, is the number one selected in the most likely consensus in the NFL draft next spring.
But on Tuesday, Lawrence said he hadn’t ruled out returning to Clemson for some other year of turning professional.
“My mentality has been that I’m going to move on, ” said Lawrence. “But who knows? There are a lot of things that can just happen. “
Ahead can be the NFL’s online team to select Lawrence. Right now, the New York Jets challenged to the offense are 0-7 and the team is without a league win.
Lawrence, of Cartersville, Georgia, has a 31-1 record as a rookie quarterback and has the Tigers top-ranked (6-0) for a sixth consecutive ACC name and a pass to school playoffs.
Lawrence is expected to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in marketing in December.
Lawrence thinks there’s a plan for him, “no matter where he goes, whether it’s on the other side of the country or if he’s close to my house, that I stay a year, we’re going to get there,” he says.
