Clubhouse Chronicles: Applauding the Ajax Cup Boosters

In an inspiring display of community and generosity, Aspen Valley Ski and Snowboard Club’s 2023 Ajax Cup left everyone on cloud nine. The support from everyone involved, from AVSC staff, donors, our co-chairs, team buyers, racers, pros, and most importantly, the kids we serve, made this event the most successful Ajax Cup in history.

THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this year’s Ajax Cup a reality. The Ajax Cup continues to ensure that over 3,000 young people from all walks of life can enjoy activities rooted in the DNA of our valley, regardless of their monetary ability. .

Congratulations to the RMP team, led by AVSC FIS coach and four-time Olympian Casey Puckett, who won this year’s Gorsuch Cup with extra runs and astonishing suspense.

We want to give a standing ovation to our co-chairs, Alana Bly and Christine Heller. This dynamic duo transformed the event into a vibrant display reminiscent of the iconic ’80s in Aspen. Their dedication and creativity brought the retro ’80s theme to life through neon and nostalgia. Their enthusiasm and support turned the event into a fantastic experience for everyone.

Specifically, we want to congratulate our sponsors and partners; the occasion would not have been imaginable without the generosity of Audi, KJUS, Aspen Snowmass, Gorsuch, Hublot, La Adelita, Edmiston, EKS Events, USA Cycling Foundation, Aspen Magazine, Chukker TV, Aspen 82, Pit Viper and Varsity Headwear.

In the midst of the celebration, everyone involved remained focused on an essential aspect of the event: the CHILDREN we serve. Beyond the excitement of GS racing, the event was committed to laying the groundwork for the next generation of mountain enthusiasts. The commitment to this cause is commendable and the applause and laughter of the young people we serve is louder than ever.

As the echoes of cheering fade, memories of our 14th annual Ajax Cup linger, a testament to the strength of community, collaboration, and a shared hobby to foster the JOY OF WINTER SPORTS in young people.
