Cole Palmer has revealed that he needs to leave Manchester City until he completes his move to Chelsea in the summer move window.
Palmer, 21, completed a £40m move from the Etihad Stadium to Stamford Bridge in August and has since made his London debut, with eight goals and seven assists in his 21 appearances for the club. It’s a start he didn’t even make when he made the decision to sign for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
“I wanted to get into the team, play and show what I can do,” he told Sky Sports. “But signing up for the team right away and being up and running surprised me, to be honest. “

I wanted to go out on loan for a year, come back and be fit for the first team. But they told me that I couldn’t go on loan, that either I stayed or they sold you.
“Then Chelsea called me. I told them I wanted to move to Chelsea and I’m pleased to be here. I’m very pleased to have made the decision to come here. “
Palmer played the full 90 minutes in Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup semi-final on Tuesday night. He now looks forward to the clash with Fulham, the second leg of the semi-final against Michael Carrick and Aston Villa. in the coming weeks.
