Pedro Santos ran to the bench in the 76th minute of Wednesday night’s game against Minnesota United for a stream while the team made some substitutions. He deserved it.
The team’s technician, Caleb Porter, took the opportunity to provide its functionality to Santos, then Porter moved his arm in a circle to tell the Portuguese winger to continue in what is his most productive functionality of the 2020 season so far.
Santos created the first purpose in the minute with a head cross bent through midfielder Lucas Zelarayan for the 1-0 lead. After Zelarayan failed to convert a penalty in the time off before the break, Santos fulfilled the purpose that secured victory for the crew.

About 10 yards from the goal, Zelarayan made a touch with Santos’ curved center and guided the ball with his head to the left corner of the back to take the lead.
The team dictated the speed of the game in the first forty-five minutes and continued to play dangerously through outdoor runners Milton Valenzuela and Harrison Afful, and Luis Diaz and Santos extremes.
In the 24th minute, Diaz played a ball in the target’s face from the right baseline that failed Gyasi Zardes a few inches from the target. Towards the end of half-time, Diaz worried in a couple of harmful moments.
In the 45th minute, Santos and Valenzuela combined on the left side, allowing Diaz to get a center of saints in the middle of the area. The Costa Rican end hit a strong left-hander towards the goal, but diverted over the bar.
A minute later, Diaz was shot in the area through Gasper and won a penalty, which gave the team a chance to seize the game before the break. Zelarayan took a step at the point and wasted his chance on the crossbar.
Outside of halftime, the team continued to create opposition to an exhausted Minnesota team. The team finished with 57. 6% ownership and 15 shots in minnesota’s eight shots.
In the 88th minute, Lod topped off a Gasper center that brought the final moments of the match closer to the intensity of the playoffs that this match intended to have.
With six of their next eight matches on the road, the team finished what they had tried to achieve against the team that eliminated the MLS return tournament team in late July.
