On Thursday afternoon in the Europa League there was time to give them two minutes, as well as England Under-17 star Mikey Moore. Tottenham are still without a replacement for Harry Kane and may never have one, but signing compatriot Toney would provide them with the number nine they need. However, there are no concrete negotiations underway, and even if it was clear that the striker was leaving, Toney may be there as the best repositioning.
It is possible that other departures will simply shake off the dead wood, as it already did with Ryan Sessegnon, Japhet Tanganga, Ivan Perisic and Tanguy Ndombele. Joe Rodon also joined Leeds as part of the deal with Gray.
Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg has been linked with a transfer to Fulham and Borussia Dortmund. Brazilian defender Emerson Royal has already been the subject of an £8m offer from AC Milan, which he rejected but could leave Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.
If the club manage to move some players, it could open a window for additional arrivals or the opportunity for some of Tottenham’s promising youngsters to shine.
