Construction of UF services is still underway

Florida completed the structure of its new $65 million baseball park and a few weeks ago, the destructive procedure began at the old McKethan Stadium.

This deconstruction will give way to an independent football facility of $85 million that will align the gators’ football comforts with those of their SEC peers and nationally.Florida athletics director Scott Stricklin joined Sportscene with Steve Russell on local Gainesville radio on Wednesday and showed that the transfer is still ongoing for the time being, without ruling out the option of a road break.

“Yes, McKethan has been demolished and they are doing a lot of the first paintings on the site right now,” Stricklin said. “We could have a setback down the road just because of the cases that we all face with COVID, but for now, it’s moving forward.”

The new football facility will allow Florida to move many of its daily operations under the southern end of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, where the area is confined.

The new facility will feature a new weight room adjacent to the existing indoor practice facility, coach offices, equipment meeting rooms, education rooms, a new wardrobe and several other high-end equipment, allowing some reconfiguration of existing amenities.ben Hill Griffin Stadium, allowing a renovated (and more spacious) wardrobe for the football team.

But unlike the backdrop of the monetary tension created through the current COVID-19 pandemic, the question of whether these projects will continue as planned remains.at the end of the month.

“We had to take monetary action to deal with this,” Stricklin said.”Fortunately, so far, you haven’t bothered to fire anyone, but we’ve done things that have an effect on our staff and we’ve done things that will have an effect on our operations, but I hope it’s things that no one will see and that we can get a little more effective and adjust a little bit.

“That’s kind of what it is. We’re not all in this area, that is, sports departments, we’re not doing what we do to make money. We do it to be able to our athletes, it happens that resources are needed to do it.Our number one purpose is for our athletes and do it in the healthiest and safest way possible.”

One thing that is transparent at this point is that Florida baseball enthusiasts will be gifted every time the game returns.

The new baseball park, on the south side of campus, near existing softball and lacrosse fields, is a charming facility.Stricklin noted that when asked through a Russell exhibition fan about the value characteristics of baseball tickets.

“I was there this morning and other people will be impressed when they come in and see what this delight looks like,” Stricklin said.”There is no seat in McKethan that has an equivalent in the new park.it’s much closer. You can be in the back row of the main lobby of the Florida Ballpark and it’s like being in the fifth row at McKethan.Everything is much closer and, of course, you have a lot of shade, a corridor.I think once the enthusiasts see it, they’ll enjoy it.”
