Congratulations to Alistair Johnston, who has been named to the America’s Cup Tournament Team. The Canadian right-back is included in the most productive XI along with Lionel Messi, Lautaro Martinez, Raphinha and James Rodriguez.
It is a testament to the ability of the full-backs, which saw him play a leading role in his country’s historic run to the semi-finals, narrowly finishing third after a penalty shoot-out defeat to Uruguay.
AJ has been doing very well since signing for the club at the beginning of 2023 and has already amassed five trophies in that time. Alistair was signed as a replacement for the talented Josip Juranavic and has been such a positive addition to Canada’s form that he has told us about the Croatia international.

His commitment, athleticism and talent have allowed him to become an essential component of our team. These qualities will be very important in the new season, as the Canadian will only improve with Brendan Rodgers, which is excellent news for the club.
