BELO HORIZONTE (Reuters) – Atlético Mineiro maintained his 100 percent start in Serie A in Brazil on Wednesday by scoring 3 goals in the second half to beat Corinthians 3-2 in a backhand match at Belo Horizonte.
Atlético, who beat protective champion Flamengo away from home in Sunday’s first game, lost 2-0 in half-time to Angelo Araos and striker Jo.
But replacement Hyoran scored twice in a row for the house team, then Nathan received a third after 61 minutes.
The defeat meant a waste of the championship for The Corinthians, who played the inaugural weekend because he was concerned about the latest in the Sao Paulo State Championship.
They now go to Porto Alegre to face the Guild in their game at the moment on Saturday, while Atletico is at home against Ceará the next day.
