No feat for CA Pontarlier. A resident of the National 3, the club lost 3-0 this Sunday against Olympique Lyonnais, a Ligue 1 club, in the 32nd final of the Coupe de France. It is the fourth time that the Haute-Doubs club Les Pontissaliens had qualified on December 9 against the Alsatians of Saarland-Union (N3) after a penalty shootout (0-0, score 1-3).
In the first half, the CA Pontarlier players held up well before conceding Ryan Cherki’s first goal in the 44th minute. The two groups went to the locker room with a score of 1-0 for Olympique Lyonnais. It doesn’t look like the first one. OL took the lead as soon as the attack resumed, scoring a second goal very quickly. Seven minutes later, in the 59th minute, Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette put the nail in the coffin with a third goal. Two teams were defeated with a score of 3 goals to 0. CA Pontarlier is thus eliminated from the Coupe de France.
