The Dallas Cowboys will be some recognizable names, at least for a while.
Offensive lineman La’el Collins and supporter Sean Lee headed to the injured reserve. Collins suffered a hip injury and Lee has a pelvic injury and had not trained much field of education.
The Cowboys placed open receiver Ventell Bryant on IR, and signed supporters Joe Thomas and Justin March, and cornerer CJ Goodwin to fill in the empty seats.
The news for the Cowboys is that with special booking regulations for the injured in 2020, those players can return after 3 weeks.
Although absences will be brief, they are important, in Collins’ case.
Collins had returned to practice after starting camp on the PUP list, but the Cowboys were careful with their correct version. Collins fell off the draft in 2015 after being questioned by police for a shooting death, then was acquitted of any crime. Since then, Collins has become a very smart choice for the Cowboys.
Lee is another surname, Dallas is not as dependent on him as it is on Collins.
Lee’s career has been disrupted by injuries, the two-time Pro Bowler is still on the Cowboys roster.
Lee didn’t practice much and Dallas “expects to be in a position until early October,” according to the team’s website. At 34, Lee is a situational player like Jaylon Smith and Leighton Vander Esch, but he remains a valuable supporter in smart health. Lee played all 16 games last season, starting at 13.
The Cowboys probably wouldn’t have a healthy lineup to start the season. Maybe it wouldn’t take long in the season to bring Lee and Collins back.
