Crime in Marseille (13000): the figures

The statistics presented on this page are problems of the 2020 report of the National Observatory of Crime and Criminal Responses (ONDRP), based on knowledge of the Ministry of the Interior. As the latter does not disseminate knowledge about crimes at the municipality level, the offences presented above are those of the public security district of Marseille, to which the city of Marseille depends.

Attention: this knowledge corresponds to court cases registered through the police and gendarmerie services. The facts that did not give rise to a police report are therefore not reflected in that knowledge. Moreover, these figures relate to the position of your statement to the police or gendarmerie and not to the place where the crime or misdemeanour occurred.

The knowledge reported to the populations is expressed in rates corresponding to one thousand (‰) inhabitants according to the most recent population knowledge provided through INSEE. When knowledge is provided for more than one municipality, the sum of the populations of the municipalities covered through the safety zone is used.
