Russian football Zenit St Petersburg announced on Monday that Croatian defender Dejan Lovren joined Liverpool club in England after signing a three-year contract.
“Thank you! I am satisfied and proud to register at Zenit. I would like to thank Sergei Semak and Alexander Medvedev for allowing this decision,” Lovren said in a post on the club’s website.
“I knew zenit was the most productive team in Russia and the league champion the last two years and that Zenit had also won the Cup. For me, it’s vital not only for the prestige of the club but also for the quality of the teammates are waiting for me,” he added.
The 31-year-old has been at Liverpool since 2014 and has 8 goals and five assists in 185 games for the English powers.
Lovren helped the Reds win a UEFA Champions League title, a UEFA Super Cup trophy and an English Premier League Cup.
