PRAGUE (Reuters) – No team will be relegated from the Czech Football League, as the festival was left unfinished after a player tested for the new coronavirus, authorities said on Thursday.
The League Football Association (LFA), an umbrella from the first two tiers, has set August 2 as the final date for all matches this season.
Since the team involved, Opava, will be quarantined for two weeks, the deadline will be met. An official resolution will be taken in a few days to end the season, AFL spokesman Stepan Hanus said.
This is not the title, retained through Slavia Praha, nor does it replace those who qualified for European competitions.
Lately in the elite will be joined through the winner and finalist of the league at the time next season. The time of the league will be reduced to 14Array
