ARLINGTON, Texas – The Dallas Cowboys activated Leighton Vander Esch, paving the way for the supporter to play Arizona on Monday night, five weeks and a day after breaking his collarbone in the first game.
Vander Esch, who was limited to nine games last year due to a neck injury, started education two weeks ago and is a full player before the house game in front of the Cardinals. Los Angeles Rams on September 13.
The return of the middle supporter helped a defensive woman who has dropped more yards and trouble in the first four weeks than any other in franchise history.
Dallas improved defensively in last week’s 37-34 win over the New York Giants, who returned an interception for a landing and scored another landing on the court after a getaway.
The Cowboys placed quarterback Dak Prescott and took Trysten Hill on the defensive in the injured reserve that finished the season. Prescott suffered a fracture and dislocation of his right ankle opposite the Giants, and Hill ruptured a knee ligament.
Dallas topped the list for the moment with a defensive shot by Justin Hamilton from the practice team.
