On Saturday, the NBA officially announced the winners of the league’s qualifying games. The awards recognize the most productive players in the team’s 8 qualifying games played in Orlando before the playoffs. FROM the NBA:
The NBA announced today that Kia NBA All-Seeding Games and Kia NBA seeding Games will honor the most productive players for games played July 30-August, the resumption of the 2019–20 season at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.
A panel of sports writers and announcers who were present to monitor the resumption of the season decided on the Kia NBA All-Seeding Games team and Kia NBA player seeding Games. The media panel voted for five players for the first team of the Games general classification and five players for the general classification Games moment team, opting for a total of 10 players in any position of any of the conferences.
Unsurprisingly, Portland Trail Blazers goalkeeper Damian Lillard has been named Kia’s NBA player for the Seeding Games. Lillard was a unanimous strain for the award, leading the Blazers to a 6-2 record in 8 league games with a 37.6-point average, 4.3 rebounds and 9.6 assists consistent with the game. Thanks in large part to Lillard’s consistent performance, the Blazers qualified for the Western Conference play-in series.
In another surprise, Phoenix Suns head coach Monty Williams was named coach of the Qualifying Games after leading the Suns to an 8-0 record in the sequence. The Suns were the only team that did not lose a singles game in the variety process. Although the Suns ultimately did not qualify for the postseason game, the way the team played in total their variety provided many reasons to be positive about the team’s future.
In addition to the player and coach on the leaderboard, the NBA also named a first and last-minute team of the Kia NBA All-Seeding Games. The first team consists of Lillard, Suns goalkeeper Devin Bookers, Dallas Mavericks goalkeeper Luka Doncic, Houston Rockets goalkeeper James Harden and Indiana Pacers ahead T.J. Garenne.
The team of the moment consists of the Milwaukee Bucks ahead Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Los Angeles Clippers ahead of Kawhi Leonard, the Mavericks Kristaps Porzingis, the Brooklyn Nets goalkeeper Caris LeVert and the Denver Nuggets ahead of Michael Porter Jr.
